Beulah Gade

October 2, 1924 ~ March 21, 2017 (age 92) 92 Years Old

Beulah Gade, 92, of Wheatland, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2017 at Wheatland Manor in Wheatland, Iowa.

Her funeral service will be held at Union Presbyterian Church in Lost Nation on Thursday, March 30, at 11:00 a.m., a visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. before the service. Burial will be held at Pinehill Cemetery in Wheatland, Iowa.

Beulah was born on October 2, 1924 to Walter and Mabel (Scott) Horstmann. She attended Lost Nation High School and graduated in 1942. She went on to Marycrest College and earned a degree in teaching. She taught for over 40 years.

She married Hubert Gade on December 28, 1946 at Zion United Church of Christ in Lowden. She was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church in Lost Nation, Teachers Union Association, Presbyterian Women Circle, and was very active in Hearthstone.

She enjoyed knitting, and was always making craft items. She was a great softball player, enjoyed roller skating and ice skating, and loved puzzles, word finds, and scrabble.

Those left to cherish her memories are her three daughters, Patricia Gade of Lost Nation, Pamela (Al) Richmann of Lost Nation, Greta (Lee) Gade-Gabrielson of Eagle River, Alaska; seven grandchildren, Kristen (Jamie) Livingood, Nathan Eric Dickman, Aubury (Shane) Dodge, Amanda (Jeff) Holdgrafer, Adam (Amanda Scharff) Richmann, Alex Hagge, Cole Hagge; six great-grandchildren, Reece Dodge, Mya Dodge, Alia Holdgrafer, Case Holdgrafer, Brooklyn Richmann, Lauren Scharff-Campbell, Ezra Livingood, sisters; Dorothy Russell of Clarence, Lola Barner of Monticello, and brother Harold Lloyd Horstmann of Kerrville, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Hubert, two brothers; Darrell and in infancy Norman.

The children would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Wheatland Manor and the volunteers who took care of our Mother.

Memorials may be given in Beulah’s honor to Union Presbyterian Church, Camp Courageous, or Wheatland Manor.
