Eva Heilig

Eva Heilig, 99, of Lost Nation passed away on December 14, 2017 at West Wing Place in DeWitt, Iowa.

Her funeral services will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Union Presbyterian Church in Lost Nation with a visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Union Presbyterian Church before the service. Burial will be held at the Lost Nation Cemetery. Lahey and Dawson Funeral Services is assisting the family at this time.

Eva was the only child of Lloyd and Ida (Willimack) Edleman, born on May 3, 1918 East of Lost Nation. She graduated from Lost Nation High School in 1936. She was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church, she served as a deacon for several years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Women’s Club, Community Quilters and Singles Club. She enjoyed her many friends along the way.

On July 4, 1937 she was united in marriage to Marvin “Mike Heilig. She loved the farm life; raising turkeys, chickens, ducks, geese, other farm duties and gardening.

Eva is survived by her two sons; Ron (Lana) Heilig, Roger (Carol) Heilig, daughter Robin (Doug) Hansen, 10 grandchildren,19 great grand-children and one great-great grandchild and a daughter-in-law Merlene Heilig.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Marvin, one son and one grandson.
