So sorry to hear of Mr. Byers' passing. My thoughts and prayers are with all his family. He was a dear friend of my parents, Norman & Mildred Kolarich who taught junior high science and 6th grade at Marble Rock with him. He was my first junior high basketball coach and I was honored that he and Mrs. Byers would trust me to babysit Joel. I'm sure he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

To Marilyn, Joel and Beth: I was a friend of Mimi's, who spent many happy hours at the Byers home during my visits there. I always felt welcomed by Mr. and Mrs. Byers. I am sorry to hear of your dad's passing. My heart goes out to you and your family. I hope your memories of all the wonderful times you had with your mom and dad bring you all comfort. Love from Amy

Was so sorry to read in the Primghar paper that John had passed away. I am a classmate of John. He was the quite one of the class. Sort of keeping everyone in stitches with his dry jokes. Loved by all.
John's family have my deepest sympathy. May God be with his family during the days ahead

I only knew John through wrestling. It was evident he was a great mentor and coach and I always respected him.

We had so many fun times with your dad and mom when we lived in Wyoming. As you know, your dad was an exceptional man. Tim loved coaching with him. I was a volunteer for the Midland ambulance in the 1980's. I never worried if your dad was driving. He was a steady, solid guy with a kind heart and a great sense of humor. We are so very sorry for your loss. God bless and keep you.

To John's Family,
My sincere sympathy. I always regarded him as a quiet man, when he spoke though, it was with meaning and sincerity.
I was a brother-in- law to Bob. Joyce was my sister and Boyd and Jay are wonderful nephews.
He apparently touched many students and accomplished much during his teaching and coaching years.
