Larry Lee Brown, 81, of Lost Nation passed away Thursday, February 15 at his home in Lost Nation, Iowa.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Union Presbyterian Church in Lost Nation. Burial will be held at a later date at Smithtown Cemetery in rural Lost Nation. Arrangements are in care of Lahey & Dawson Funeral Service, Lost Nation.
Larry was born on April 9, 1936 in Clinton, Iowa to Roger William and Florence Irene (Kankel) Browne. He attended and graduated from Lost Nation High School. He was united in marriage to the love of his life Connie K. Holtz on April 2, 1955 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lost Nation. He hauled grain as a truck driver and was a farmer.
He was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church and was a Cub Scout and 4-H leader. He loved to attend baseball and basketball games. Larry was a very social person and would strike a conversation with whomever he saw. He enjoyed shooting pool and was a jack of all trades.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Connie, children Sheree Segebert of Decorah, Randy (Cheryl) Browne of Pella, Mark (Chuck Cook) Browne of Ottawaa, Ontario Canada, 5 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, sister, Carole Browne of Fort Collins, CO, and brother Paul (Cheryl) Browne of Greeley, CO.
He is preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Chuck.
Memorials may be directed to Camp Wyoming in Larry’s honor.
