Robert "Bud" W. Mayfield

Robert “Bud” W. Mayfield, 93, of Oxford Junction passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the Clarence Nursing Home.

His memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Lahey Funeral Home in Oxford Junction. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at Lahey Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Canton Cemetery.

Robert Wendell Mayfield was born on June 16, 1923 in Onslow, Iowa to Al and Lana (Billman) Mayfield. He graduated from Olin High School. Bud was self-employed and used his bulldozer and construction skills to help many people over the years. He enjoyed going fishing and mushroom hunting. In his earlier years he would go dancing every Saturday night.

Those left to cherish his memories are his long time partner of 39 years Josie Behne, two children; Shirley Stuttsman of North Liberty, Jimmy (Jean) Mayfield of Toronto, several grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and a sister Dorothy (Edward) Kromminga of Hollister, California.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Al and Billy, four sisters; Reva, Peggy, Lois and Minnie and a son Johnny.

Memorials may be directed to Clarence Nursing Home in his honor.
