Sharon I. Nodurft

Sharon I. Nodurft, 70, of Lost Nation passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City.

Her funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lost Nation on Monday, March 20 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 11;00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lost Nation. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Lost Nation.

Sharon Irene Curtis was born on July 13, 1946 in Fort Fairfield, Maine to Mildred Hanson (David Alquist) and James Curtis. She graduated from Lost Nation High School. On January 15, 1966 she was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Nodurft at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lost Nation. She worked as a certified med-aid for several years then went onto be a cook at the Lost Nation School and a couple different restaurants.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lost Nation, Guys and Dolls and The American Legion Auxiliary. Sharon took great pride in baking. She enjoyed reading, taking day trips with her girlfriends and camping with her friends and family.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband Richard “Dick” of Lost Nation, her children; Andrew (Kathleen) Nodurft of Worcester, Mass., Christopher Nodurft of Bettendorf, Allison Nodurft of Lost Nation, four grandchildren; Thomas (Ashley) Nodurft, Katelyn, Madison and Sean Nodurft, one great-granddaughter Hadley, a sister Gladys (Doug) Daniels of Preston, a brother Jim (Barb) Curtis of Davenport, three sister-in-laws; Mary Jo Eye of Gravois Mills, Missouri, Frances Curtis of Maquoketa and Linda Hansen Macivor.  

She is preceded in death by her parents, her step-dad, two brothers; Earl Hanson and Walter Leigh Curtis.
