Shelley L. McAtee

Shelley McAtee, 46, of Olin passed away on April 17, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City following a long illness.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Olin Community Methodist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 19, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Olin, Iowa. Burial will be held at a later date at the Olin cemetery.

Shelley was born on January 15, 1971 in Anamosa, Iowa to Gene and Mary (Tomas) McAtee. She graduated from Tipton.

Shelley was a member of the Olin Community Methodist Church. She was also a honorary member of the Circle J Square Dancing Club. She loved cheering on her siblings sports and was an avid Hawkeye fan. She also enjoyed listening to opera music.

Those left to cherish her memories are her parents Gene and Mary McAtee of Olin, sisters; Carol (Steve) Novey of Central City, Stacey (Richard) Connell of Colorado Springs, Colorado, brother, Mike (Juanita) McAtee of Walcott, Iowa, nieces and nehews; Jonathan Cruise, Drew Bixler, Korie Bixler, Gregory Novey, McKenna Novey, Matt Voss, Katie Triska, Sarah Neilson, Thomas McAtee, Frankie Roe and Siobhan Roe, plus 12 great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents; Leo and Minnie Tomas, and paternal grandparents Burl and Luna May McAtee.
