Remembering you will be easy. We will do it every day.

At the age of 81, on June 20, 2009, God in His mercy called her home to be reunited with her husband, Walter. Our hearts are heavy at losing her, but her suffering is over and for that we rejoice.
Born January 11, 1928 Darlene was raised in Olin, Iowa with her siblings, Mary Helen, Shirley and Richard. She graduated from Olin High School where she was an avid athlete, earning honors in basketball and softball. On March 4, 1946 she married Walter Rohwedder, and together they farmed south of Olin, raising their family.
A longtime member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, she served on the Ladies Auxiliary working in numerous capacities. In support of her children, she was active in various school functions and always kept her priorities straight when it came to family.
She enjoyed playing golf at Fawn Creek Country Club, loved music, good conversation, playing games and dancing. She tirelessly taught her children by example to be Christian…honest, hard working, caring, respectful, fun-loving and most importantly, fair and compassionate. Indeed, she was loved and will be dearly missed.
