Arlene Davenport was born June 21, 1928, in Maquoketa, Iowa,
the daughter of Glenn and Myrtha (Tubbs) Davenport.
She graduated from Maquoketa High School.
She married Loyd L. Manning on March 13, 1944 in Clinton, Iowa.
He died on April 3, 1996.
She retired from Clinton Engines and HOOF Products in Maquoketa.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Maquoketa.
She loved her home, flower garden and yard. Her grandchildren
were very special to her.

Arlene is survived by her children;
James Lee (Vicki) Manning and
John Allen Manning, both of Maquoketa, and
Clayton Clyde (Jan) Manning of Newton;
9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; &
an adopted brother, Robert Davenport-Mueller of Harleyville, S.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Myrna,
her parents, one grandson, two great-grandchildren, one sister and
three brothers.

Arlene Manning, 81, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died Friday, August 21, 2009,
at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.
