John Ronek was born October 8, 1932 in Bernard, Iowa, son of
Otto J. and Viola E. (Oswald) Ronek. He married Joanne C. Homan
on September 8, 1958, in Springbrook, Iowa.
He was a machinist at Caterpillar in Davenport, retiring in 1987.
He enjoyed planning the calendar of events for the residents of
Hurst Hotel. John was an avid card player and liked to fish.

John is survived by four children,
Julie (John) Keeney of Maquoketa,
Jolene (& Ed Lorezel) Ronek of Davenport,
Judith (&Tony Humphries) Renfrow of Golden, Texas &
John (Michelle) Ronek, II. of Decatur, Illinois;
20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren;
one sister, Eileen Kennicker of Farley and
two brothers, George (Mary) Ronek of Andrew, and
Dale (Rene) Kennicker of Delmar.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a great-grandson, three brothers
and one sister.

John Ronek, 76, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died Thursday, September 3, 2009,
at his home.

His body has been cremated.
A Memorial dinner will be held for family and friends on
Saturday, September 12th, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at
Circle M Auction Hall in Maquoketa.
