Robert C. Steward was born May 9, 1935 in Donohue, Iowa,
to Rudolph and Ella (Gronewold) Steward. He married Joyce J. Lafrenz
on November 27, 1954 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa.
She preceded him in death on January 16, 2006.
He was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1962 with the
rank of Sergeant.
He worked in the street department for the City of Davenport for 10 years,
and at Caterpillar in Mt. Joy in clerical and purchasing until he retired in 1989.
He also farmed in the Blue Grass area.
He was a member of the Zion American Lutheran Church and American
Legion Wyoming Post #259, Wyoming. In earlier years, he served for the
Scott County Sheriffs Mounted Patrol.

Robert is survived by a son, Michael (Angela) Steward of Wyoming;
4 grandchildren, Anthony, Daniel, Justin and Melissa;
one sister, Millie Wallace of Eldridge; one brother, Bill (Judy) Steward
of DeWitt; one sister-in-law, Bernie Steward of Woodhull, Illinois;
and brothers-in-law, Leonard (Eljean) Lafrenz, Dennis (Barb) Lafrenz,
and Clifford (Cathy) Lafrenz, all of Donahue.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, one son, Mark Charles
on January 7, 1983, and a brother, Ralph.

Robert C. "Butch" Steward, 74, of Wyoming, Iowa, died Saturday,
November 21, 2009, at his home.
|
Memorials are preferred or may be given to Hospice of Jackson County or
Zion American Lutheran Church.
