Maxine Marie Kankel was born August 11, 1922, in Lost Nation, Iowa,
to Paul and Minta Isabella (Scroggie) Kankel. She graduated from
Lost Nation High School. She married Clyde Edwin Edwards on
August 12, 1940 in Dubuque, Iowa. He died on December 12, 1978.
She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Lost Nation.
She was a member of Union Presbyterian Church, Guys & Dolls, Presbyterian Womens Club. She enjoyed reading, getting together with friends for coffee
and helping put the "Scoop" together.

Maxine is survived by one daughter, Marlene Dotterweich of Bettendorf;
one son, Russell (Helen) Edwards of LeClaire;
3 grandchildren, Brenda Dotterweich & Scott (Lynn) Edwards,
of Bettendorf, & Tonya (LT) Matheny of Pitts, GA;
4 great-grandchildren, Nick, Samantha & Joel Edwards, all of Bettendorf,
and Ashleigh Matheny, Pitts, GA;
and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one
brother, James Kankel, and two sisters, Florence Browne &
Mildred Walker.

at Riverview Manor in Pleasant Valley, Iowa.
