Lila F. Snyder

Lila Florence (Bramer) Snyder, 96, passed from this life March 8, 2024. Born February 26, 1928 in Royal Oak, Michigan, daughter of Fred and Ava (Streeper) Bramer, she lived in the Onslow area from age 2, graduating from Onslow High School in 1945.

December 21, 1947, Lila married Marvin Snyder. From that union came four children; Marcy (Dale) Usher of Fairfax, Greg (JoAnn) and Jeff (Lisa) Snyder of Cedar Rapids, and Kathy (Jerry) Eggert of Atkins. Marvin died in an accident in December 1971.

Lila worked for 20-25 years in a small engine factory in Maquoketa and late for 11 and a half years at Farmstead Foods in Cedar Rapids, moving to that city in 1979. Never one to sit idle, in her later years she worked part time for two print shops.

In 1985 she married Robert Snyder and enjoyed taking trips to western states and to fish in Canada. They also traveled to Alaska.

She enjoyed the outdoors and loved gardening and her many flower beds. She loved Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and never missed a Lawrence Welk Show! Lila was preceded in death by her brother, Howard, (who was killed in 1943 while serving in the Navy), her parents and both husbands.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law Phyllis Rockwell of Maquoketa and many extended family members.

As per her wishes, she was cremated and her remains will be buried in her family plot in Wyoming, Iowa. Private graveside services will be held at the burial and a family celebration of life at their annual summer picnic.
