Amy Johnson Obituary

Amy D. Johnson, 61, of Maquoketa passed away December 26, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

 

Her family has granted her wishes of cremation and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Lahey & Dawson Funeral Service, Maquoketa is caring for Amy’s family at this time.

 

Amy Denise was born on July, 8, 1957 in Bexar County, Texas to W. C. and Nancy (Walton) Williams. On January 6, 1973 she was united in marriage to David Johnson in Maquoketa, Iowa. She was a wonderful caregiver and had fostered over 100 children. She loved spending time and socializing with her family. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed BBQing. Amy loved traveling and was always taking care of everyone else. For several years she answered phones at Lahey Funeral Home.

 

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband David, thirteen children; Melissa (Robert) Johnson of Grand Mound, Eva Johnson of Dubuque. David (Macie) Johnson Jr. of Quad Cities, Cindy (PJ) Johnson of Milwaukee, Gregory (Cammy) Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Travis Johnson, AnnMarie Johnson, Anne Johnson all of Maquoketa, Bill (Wendy) Hermanson of Aledo, Illinois, Kathy (Dorry) Johnson of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, Ken (Joan) Johnson of Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, Nicole (Matt) Conner of Atlantic Beach, Florida, twenty five grandchildren, a few great-grandchildren, a sister Sallie (Joe) Roarke of Lebanon, Tennessee, a brother Danny (Annette) Williams of Fort Walton Beach, Florida and special friend, Bob (Mim) Stockham.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother Alan, a sister Diane and a grandchild Mekhi.

 

Memorials may be directed to her family at Po Box 640, Maquoketa, Iowa 52060 in her honor.
