Glenn William Wood, 83, of Olin, Iowa died, December 9, 2018 in Anamosa, Iowa after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer's and COPD.
Services will be held at 11am on Friday, December 14th at St. John Lutheran Church in Olin, Iowa. Friends may visit with the family on December 13th from 4 to 8pm at Lahey & Dawson Funeral Home in Olin, Iowa. Burial will be held at the Olin Cemetery.
Glenn was born on September 11th, 1935 in Olin, Iowa on the family farm to Archie and Ruth Wood. He graduated from Olin HS in 1953. He married Dolores Strong on September 13th, 1958. Glenn and Dolores spent a brief time in Junction City Kansas while he was stationed as a mechanic in the US Army. They spent the remainder of their lives together on the family farm in rural Olin. Besides being a devoted farmer, he managed a route for High Grade Milk in Tipton and worked at Iowa Manufacturing. Over the years Glenn developed a passion for tinkering and created many inventions on the farm in addition to designing and building their family home.
He is survived by his wife Dolores; children Debora Tjaden (Steve), Wyoming, Iowa and Brenda Wick (Robert), Stillwater, Minnesota; grandchildren Stacey Tjaden, Wyoming, Iowa, McKenzie Buck, Minneapolis, MN, Darcey Tjaden, Lake Bluff IL, Marissa Buck, Maplewood, MN; several nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, brother Richard, sisters Helen Krutzfeld (Ed), Dorothy Miller (Tom), Ella Mae Holland (Charlie), Margaret Early (Carl), Alice Christianson (Richard) and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials can be directed to the family in his honor.
