Tom Clasen, 47, of Maquoketa passed away Monday, May 1, 2017.
His funeral service will be held at Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 4 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home. A private burial will be held at a later date.
Thomas Frank Clasen was born on October 9, 1969 in Maquoketa, Iowa to Leo and Peggy (Anderson) Clasen. He graduated from Maquoketa High School in 1988. He was a carpenter and worked for Caes Construction in Maquoketa.
Tom was a member of local dart and pool leagues, he enjoyed stock car racing and built custom chopper bikes and drift bikes. He also liked to spend his time mushroom hunting, fishing, coon hunting and trapping.
Those left to cherish his memories are his parents Peggy Head-Costello and Kenny, significant other Renee Walker, children; Whitney (Wilson Galo-Umanzor) Clasen of Maquoketa, Keely Clasen of Lost Nation, Lexi and Lane Walker, brother Marty (Corrine) Clasen of Maquoketa, step-sister Melinda (Bill) Rowan of Baldwin, step-brother Nicholas Costello of Calamus, special nephew Logan Clasen, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, grandparents, brother Michael, step-dad James, and uncle Loren Clasen.
