Barbara J. Hoffner

Barbara J. Hoffner, 77, of Oxford Junction passed away peacefully on February 2, 2023 in Olin.

Her family has granted her wishes of a cremation and no services will be held. Dawson Funeral Services of Oxford Junction is assisting her family.

Barbara Jane Posusta was born on March 21, 1945 in Norway, Iowa to Albin and Esther (Reathmann) Posusta. She graduated from Troy Mills High School. On November 26, 1963 she was united in marriage to August Hoffner. In her earlier years she worked at Tide Water Direct in West Branch and was a housewife raising eight children. Barbara enjoyed reading, she could finish multiple books in one day sometimes. She also enjoyed cuddling with her cats. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are her four children; Virginia (Brent) Hussman of Hopkinton, Victoria (Harry) Dundee of Olin, Beverly (Lee) Templeton of Clarence, Barb (Robert) Maddix of Iowa City, fifteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, a sister Ruth Puffett of Collins, Missouri and a brother Dennis Posusta of Henderson, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter Vicky and three sons; Vincent, Virgil and Robert.
