Faye Lavon Hamilton

Faye Lavon Hamilton, 88, of Olin, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Care Initiatives Care Center.

Faye was born on December 3, 1937, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to William and Elsie (Klinkkammer) Daab. She graduated from Olin High School with the Class of 1955. On August 7, 1956, she married the love of her life, Thomas Hamilton, at Rock Island Methodist Church. Together they shared many wonderful years until his passing.

Faye worked at Doer Electric for 15 years. She enjoyed traveling throughout the eastern United States, especially east of the Mississippi River. She also loved watching birds and geese and found great joy in life's simple pleasures.

Above all, Faye treasured her family. She is lovingly survived by her children, Terry (Terri) Hamilton of Olin, Thomas Hamilton of Mechanicsville, Michael Hamilton of Olin, and Kim Kelsey of Mechanicsville; her grandchildren, Nicole (Blake) Tjaden, Todd (April) Hamilton, and Amber Kelsey; her great-grandchildren, Jordan, Randall, Landen, Gage, Titus, Jill, Jazzy, Liam, and Jadyn; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Thomas; her son, Kenneth; her son-in-law, Wayne; and her faithful canine companion, Charlie.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Dawson Funeral Services in Olin. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Dawson Funeral Services in Olin. Burial will follow at Stanwood Cemetery.
