Janet “Rattle Ass” Stafford Becthold, 77, of Wheatland passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Dawson Funeral Services in Wyoming. A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Monday, March 4 at Dawson Funeral Services in Wyoming. Burial will be at the Wyoming Cemetery.
Janet Sue was born on August 31, 1946 in Iowa to James and Naydene (Allen) Willman. She graduated from Wyoming High School and went on to earn a certificate from cosmetology school. In 1966 she was united in marriage to Guy Stafford, three children came of this union and they later divorced. On April 26, 1997 she was united in marriage to the love of her life Donald Becthold at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Janet enjoyed working at Jack and Associates in Maquoketa for many years where she made lifelong relationships that she forever cherished. She continued her work in Oxford Junction at Susie Coon’s.
Janet was known for making the “Best Pizzas” while working at Casey’s General Store for 30 years. She was always the life of the party and loved socializing with everyone. She enjoyed traveling and visiting family in Alabama and Missouri. She was an avid collector of porcelain dolls and anything Betty Boop. On Sundays, you could find her watching one of her favorite John Wayne shows. She loved her weekly shopping trips to the Quad Cities with her good friend. Her hair and nails were always as vibrant as her personality. She will be truly missed by everyone.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Donald who tragically passed away the following day, two children; Amee Stafford of St. Joseph, Missouri, Jimmie (Rose) Stafford of Ozark, Alabama, her grandchildren; Scott Osquist (Angel), Anna Burghoff (Jason), William Stafford (Melanie), Kourtnee LaMack (Jarret) and Lacee Smith (Ty) , many great-grandchildren, three sisters; Carolyn Seeley of Manchester, Judee (Bob) Burmahl of Wyoming, Rhonda (Steve) Poppe of Lowden, a sister-in-law Suzanne Willman, and three step children; Dawn (Doug) Muench, DeAnna Taylor and Deb (Jeff) Wenndt.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Allen Willman, brother-in-law Richard Seeley and son David Stafford.
