Marlyn L. Sweet, 87, of Olin passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at home.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 13, 10:00 am at Tipton Bible Church, Tipton, Iowa. For those unable to attend, her service will be live-streamed on the Tipton Bible Church Facebook Page. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday at Hale Supper Club, Hale, Iowa.
Marlyn Letetia was born on August 25, 1935 in Anamosa to William and Theola (Ellison) Pazour. She graduated from Anamosa High School. On July 25, 1954 she was united in marriage to Harold Sweet at the First Baptist Church in Anamosa. Marlyn was a full time stay at home mom, raising their four children. She spent a lot of her time volunteering around the community at the local food pantry, library, school or anywhere that needed an extra hand. She was a kindhearted woman with deep faith who would be there for anyone who needed it. Marlyn loved her family and cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and watching sports.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Harold, four children; Barb (Bryan) Conner of Cedar Rapids, Mike (Karen) Sweet of Cedar Rapids, Michele (Steve) Houston of Hale, David Sweet of Winthrop, twelve grandchildren, thirty two great-grandchildren and a brother William (Doris) Pazour Jr. of Anamosa.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
