Irene Williamson, 96, of Maquoketa passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Maquoketa Care Center.
Funeral services will be held on Friday December 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa. Friends may call on Thursday December 8 from 4 – 7 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home, with a Catholic Daughters Rosary at 6:30. Burial will be held at Clinton Lawn Cemetery in Clinton, Iowa.
Irene Madonna Alleman was born on June 10, 1920 in Downing Wisconsin to Thomas and IdaMae (Mulvaney) Alleman. She married William Williamson in Hudson, Wisconsin. In her early years she was a caretaker at the Clinton County Humane Society, and after that was a homemaker.
Irene was a member on Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa, and member of Catholic Daughters of America Court St. Rapheal and had been JCPH auxiliary for many years.
Those left to cherish her memories are her daughters; Cathy (Paul) Seyfert of Delmar, Beth (Lannie) Hann of Hamilton, N.J. Barb (Tom) Nissen of Clinton, 6 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters; Rosella Blakley of Menomonie, WI, Marie Schlosser of Waterford, WI., and sister-in-law Della Alleman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William, two brothers; Charlie and Harry, an infant brother Harvey and sister, Florence Best.
